Capt Amos Samuel Kimball

CAPTAIN AMOS SAMUEL KIMBALL served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 98th NEW YORK VOLUNTEERS during the Civil War and was promoted to Captain and Assistant Quartermaster in April 1864. After the War he transferred to the Regular Army and was assigned to the 24th Infantry as Assistant Quartermaster. He was subsequently promoted to Major in 1883, Lt. Colonel in 1894, and Colonel in 1898. He retired from the Army as a Brigadier General in 1902.
