John Severance
(Richard, Abigail)

John was born in Salisbury, MA on November 24, 1647.

He married in Boston on August 15, 1672 to Mary ________.

According to the Severans Genealogy, John assisted his father in his work as a "vintner and victualler," and removed to Boston about 1672, where he settled after his marriage.  In 1680 he removed to Suffield, CT, and from there went to Deerfield, MA, upriver from Suffield.  The ease of travel given to settlers by the Connecticut river also worked to their disadvantage, as Indians likewise used it.  Settlements, such as Deerfield, were extremely vulnerable to attack.

He died in Deerfield.  Nothing is know about his wife.
