Richard was born in Hampton, NH (then part of Massachusetts) on November 20, 1659 and died in Bradford, MA on January 21, 1732-3. He was Cornet and Captain.
He married on September 7, 1682 to Sarah Spofford, daughter of John Spofford and Elizabeth Scott, she being the daughter of Thomas Scott, brother to Ursula Scott, the first wife of Richard Kimball. Sarah was born on March 24, 1661, in Boxford, and died on February 14, 1713-4.
He married second, on November 5, 1714, Mrs. Mehitable (Day) Kimball, widow of his cousin Richard, son of Benjamin Kimball.
Many real estate transactions in which Richard Kimball had an interest are on record, and these in some cases have been valuable means of tracing his brothers and sisters.
His will was probated on February 5, 1732-3. Part of it is of interest as showing what he considered comfortable provision for his widow. "Wife Mehitable is to have the west end of the dwelling house and the use of my cows which she shall choose and that they shall be kept for her summer and winter by my executors and said executors shall also provide for her comfortable going to and from the house of God. Moreover she shall have yearly from sd. exrs 10 bush. Indian corn 4 bush rye, 1 bu. wheat, 2 bu. of Malt, 12 pounds of sheeps wool, six pounds of flax, 120 pounds of pork, fifty pounds of beef, also they shall provie her with sufficient fire wood at her door, all these while she shall remain my widow and further more my will is that my said wife shall have my household stuff viz. a frying pan a warming pan and half the bedding made by us since our marriage and also 20s worth more of what she shall choose. Item. My will is that my beloved wife be buried at the charge and expense of mine exrs. if she remain widow."
