Elizabeth Kimball Carleton
(Richard,
Benjamin)
Elizabeth was born in Bradford, MA on July 24, 1669 and died
there on August 24, 1727.
She married Edward Carleton. He was born in
Haverhill, MA on March 22, 1665 He was killed by an Indian while crossing
the Merrimack river in 1711. (Another account gives the date as 29 Aug 1708)
CHILDREN:
- Edward Carleton (4), b. 20 Feb 1691; d. 29 Nov 1749.
He was called "Cornet." He lived in that part of Haverhill, MA, that became
New Hampshire. He dropped the "e" from the spelling of his name.
Married, Bradford, 13 Jun 1712, Hannah Kimball, the daughter of
Richard Kimball and Sarah (Spofford) Kimball.
- Benjamin Carleton (4), b. 23 Apr 1693; d. 13 May
1772; m. 1st, about 1721, Abigail Dalton; m. 2nd, Elizabeth Bancroft,
who d. 1775. He had seven children by his second marriage.
- Nehemiah Carleton (4), b. 23 Apr 1695; d. 1767; m.
1st, 15 Apr 1725, Elizabeth Haseltine, who d. 27 Mar 1758; m. 2nd, 8
Jul 1760, Mrs Judith Foster. He had six chidlren by the 1st marriage.
- Aaron Carleton (4), b. 12 June 1697; d. 8 Jan 1701-2
- Nathaniel Carleton (4), bapt. 20 June 1697, at
Bradford; removed to Lunenberg, MA, Oct 1748; d. there 19 June 1774; m. 29 Aug
1721, Abigail Dean of Andover, MA, by whom he had nine children.
- Hannah Carleton (4), 25 Oct 1699
- Abner Carleton (4), 7 Feb 1701; d. 1702
- Ebenezer Carleton (4), b. Bradford, 22 Dec 1704; d.
1761; m. 18 Aug 1729, Elizabeth Kimball. They had nine children
born in Methuen, MA.
- Mehitable Carleton (4), b. 8 Mar 1707; died young.
