Benjamin Kimball
(Richard, Benjamin, Jonathan)

Benjamin was born in Bradford, MA on May 16, 1697 and died on August 5, 1741.

He married before 1718 to Mary Emerson, who was born on March 21, 1696.  She was the daughter of Joseph Emerson and Martha (Toothaker) Emerson, the grand-daughter of Robert Emerson and Ann (Grant) Emerson

He lived in the northern part of Haverhill, MA.  When the line was run between the two provinces his property fell into New Hampshire, and was in the town now known as Hampstead.  On some old records widow Mary Kimball is mentioned as being north of the line in 1742.  Benjamin and Mary were members of the church in Plaistow, being elected on February 3, 1731.

He owned land in Chester, NH, which he left to his son Moses.  It is said that he married at the age of eighteen and went north of the river, three miles into the woods, to clear his farm, and his mother was very much distressed at the great danger he ran from the Indians.  The date of his death is erroneously given on the monument erected to his memory in Plaistow graveyard as 1752.
