Oliver Kimball
(Richard, Benjamin, Robert)

Oliver was born in Bradford, MA on May 24, 1724 and died on November 3, 1801

He was married on March 26, 1745 to Mary Ober.  She was born on May 23, 1725 and died on June 23, 1806.

He lived in Bradford, MA and Salem, NH.  The following entry occurs on the old town books in Salem:  "July 22, 1747.  The mark of Oliver Kimball's cattel and other cuachers is a swalous tail of ye right ear, and a halfany ye upr sid of ye left ear."  In new countries all the cattle are turned to pasture in the woods in the spring, and herd together, therefore it is very important that each farmer should have some distinguishing mark on his cattle.  These marks are registered on the town books, and were generally made by cutting pieces out of their ears, rarely by branding.
