John graduated with an AB from Dartmouth College in 1849 and was a trade in Contoocook, NH until 1851 when he moved to Albany, NY.
In Albany, NY he studied law with James Callahan and began the practice of it in 1853 and continued until his death.
He was a soldier in the war of 1861.
He supposedly had 14-17 children of which we have the names of six.
